FAQ
Plain-English answers
Everything you wanted to ask, in one place.
Can I choose my own body shop after an accident?
Yes. In Florida, you have the legal right to choose any licensed collision repair facility — your insurance company cannot require you to use a specific shop.
Do I have to use the repair shop my insurance company recommends?
No. Insurance "DRP" or "network" shops work under volume contracts with the insurer. You're free to choose an independent shop like Car Geeks Collision that works for you, not the insurer.
How long does collision repair take?
Most cosmetic repairs take 3–7 business days. Larger structural or insurance-claim repairs can take 2–4 weeks. We'll give you a realistic estimate after a hands-on inspection.
Do you repair Tesla vehicles?
Yes. We're trained in Tesla's aluminum welding, high-voltage safety, and Autopilot/ADAS recalibration procedures for Model S, 3, X, Y, and Cybertruck.
Do you repair luxury and exotic vehicles?
Yes — Mercedes-Benz, BMW, Audi, Porsche, Lexus, Land Rover, Bentley, Rolls-Royce, Ferrari, Lamborghini, McLaren, Maserati and more. We use OEM parts and factory procedures.
What is diminished value?
Diminished value is the loss in market value a vehicle suffers after being in an accident, even after a perfect repair. A car with an accident on Carfax is worth less than an identical undamaged car.
Can I file a diminished value claim in Florida?
Yes. Florida allows third-party diminished value claims against the at-fault driver's insurance. We help document and support your claim.
Do you help with insurance claims?
Absolutely. We coordinate with every major insurer — communicating with your adjuster, handling supplements, and documenting the repair so you don't have to.
Do you provide towing assistance?
Yes. If your vehicle isn't safe to drive, we'll help coordinate a flatbed tow to our facility.
Do you offer loaner vehicles?
Courtesy loaners are available on qualifying repairs, subject to availability. Ask about eligibility when you bring your vehicle in.
Do you use OEM parts?
Yes. We use original-equipment-manufacturer parts whenever applicable, especially on luxury and structural repairs. We'll always tell you what's going on your vehicle.
What should I do immediately after an accident?
Make sure everyone is safe, call 911 if anyone is injured, document the scene with photos, exchange insurance information, file a police report, and then call us. We'll guide you through the rest.
